News
DVC#3 is now over and continuum did not win. That's ok, the level of competition was amazing. Continuum was nominated for best cinematography, so that is good.
What is it?
Continuum is a short film created for the 3rd DV Challenge.
The theme specified by the challenge organizer was, 'cameras'. Initially I had all sorts of cool ideas and even wrote a couple scripts.
However, as it turned out most of my friends were busy and could not help. So late Sunday I had to go back to the drawing board.
Knowing I only had my son and my dad to work with, I had to write a story that was doable in the house. Finally I came up with this one.
In the end, I worry that it may not be enough about cameras...
What did I learn?
This was my first time in the contest and it was rough. I think I learned a lot doing this challenge. The Orson Welles quote, "A poet needs a pen, a painter a brush, and a filmmaker an army."
means a lot more to me now. I also learned that sometimes the the picture in my head is easier to create on the computer than finding the actual location.

"The Deleted Explosion" 27.3Mb Originally, The dad was going to die in a massive explosion in front of his son. It didn't turn out to well, but was pretty funny. |
